On Friday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi gave a fair and balanced nuclear deal to the United Nations to avoid its sanctions on the Islamic state of Tehran.

Iran agrees to the new Atomic framework:

On a social media platform, Araghchi said, “Iran is introducing a creative, fair, and balanced proposal which addresses genuine concerns and is mutually beneficial.” He said that the nuclear proposal is made on Thursday and that the proposal is sent to the E3 countries, including Britain, France, and Germany.

He said, “Turning this idea into action can be prompt and resolve the respective bottom lines to avert a crisis. Iran cannot be the sole responsible actor.” Iran has made these statements after the United Nations Security Council was set to vote on Friday.

It is expected that the decision to reimpose the economic sanctions on Tehran will be made. As per the diplomatic exports, Iran can face the UN economic sanctions as it lacks the due 9 votes to maintain its position.

Iran’s violation of the agreement and the US’s urge to impose sanctions:

Earlier, the sanctions on Tehran were imposed so that it would halt its nuclear programme. The E3 countries lifted the sanctions. However, these countries are now reimposing the sanctions, as they said that Iran has violated its commitment under the deal.

The Western countries and Iran’s long-time enemy, Israel, want to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power. In 2015, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA) or Iran nuclear deal was an agreement made between Iran and Western countries to restrict Iran from developing nuclear weapons to provide relief from sanctions.

In 2018, Trump reimposed the sanctions on Iran and rejected the JCPA. In 2019, Iran rolled back to its agreement. In 2025, Israel targeted a nuclear facility in Tehran. It said that the assault was made to halt Iran from increasing its nuclear weapons.

Iran retaliated for the attack with drones and missiles.

The attack lasted for 12 days. In these 12 days of assault, the US stood with Israel. Last week, Iran showed its consent to work on a new framework for working with the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency. The agency warned that Iran has upto 60% of nuclear enrichment. That is why the US and Israel are imposing sanctions on Iran to stop it from becoming a nuclear power.
