Indian Plane Crashes Near Ahmedabad Airport In Meghani Nagar

GUJRAT- Indian media confirmed that an aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad’s Meghani Nagar area near the airport on Thursday. The casualties are not confirmed yet. 

The plane crashed near an airport:

Air India informed through X that flight AI171 crashed in the Meghani Nagar area near the airport in Ahmedabad. According to the sources, the aircraft went down right after take-off. 

Air India also confirmed that there were 242 passengers in the aircraft. Among them, 169 were Indian passengers, 53 British Nationals, one Canadian, and 7 Portuguese Nationals.

Reports are showing that the injured passengers were sent to the nearby hospital for immediate treatment. Footage shows the thick smoke rising in the sky after the plane crash. The emergency team and the rescue team readily reached the location. 

More than five firefighting vehicles from various cities reached the location. 

A fire department official said, “A team of over five fire vehicles has reached the location, and fire control measures are being carried out.” The firefighter team has started its precautionary measures. 

Inquiry is under process:

The investigation of the incident is being processed. Air India and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation have started investigating the cause of the incident and the damage caused by the incident. The official statement about the incident has not yet been given.
