Indian Government Explains Position On IND vs. PAK Asia Cup 2025 Match

Regarding a coming Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan later this year, the Indian government has made its position clear.
Even though the bitter rivals haven’t played cricket together in years, they still compete in international competitions. The Indian government’s guidelines are the reason the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to tour Pakistan or engage in bilateral cricket with the Men in Green.
India has received calls to boycott the forthcoming continental tournament between India and Pakistan, which will be hosted by the current champions in the United Arab Emirates.
Following India’s withdrawal from their matches against Pakistan, especially their semi-final in the World Championship of Legends in July, these calls became more intense. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in India has now defended the ability of their national team to compete in multi-nation tournaments that also feature Pakistan.
“We are advised by the practices of international sporting groups and the passion of our own athletes as they relate to international and multicolored events, whether in India or abroad,” the Indian ministry stated in a statement. As a result, Indian teams and the players will compete in international tournaments that also feature Pakistani teams or participants, the statement continued.
In a similar vein, Pakistani teams as well as individuals would be permitted to take part in these multilateral competitions that India hosts.
Uncertainty surrounding the was looking forward to India vs. Pakistan match at the Asia Cup 2025 next month has been eliminated by the Indian government’s confirmation.
The bitter rivals have been placed in the same group and will play each other on September 14th in Dubai. In the next continental tournament, they may play each other (3) times. The archrivals’ women’s teams will compete in the ODI World Cup a month later.
