In Karachi, load shedding upsets the public and ruins the sacrificed meat.
On Tuesday, 25 June 2024, even though it was summertime outside, Karachi residents experienced the biggest power failure. Details show that those who live in the load-shedding-free zone of North Nazimabad Block Q in Karachi also experience a lack of electricity. According to citizens, there is a 100 percent billing from the region. Still, K-Electric is implementing unexpected load shedding because of “Kunda,” or unauthorized power connections, in the nearby Katchi abadis. The people questioned, “Why are we punished for criminal connections in the region, even if we pay huge bills?” They reported the sacrificial meat had rotted as a result of lengthy power failures.

A citizen made a demand for the provision of the spoilt meat and the restoration of the electricity supply. Before that, angry people rushed the K-Electric (KE) customer service center on Karachi’s Abul Hassan Isphani Road, expressing their frustration with the ongoing power shedding. The crowd broke windows at the customer service center with stones while shouting anti-K-Electric shouts. Citizens of Karachi demanded an end to the regular load shedding, which set off the rally in response to the city’s growing electricity problem. Unfortunately, there was a severe traffic jam as a result of the crowds blocking both lanes of the street. The K-Electric employees left peacefully to express their anger as they left their workplace and left the area.
