INDIA: On Wednesday, the news agency reported that the heavy rain caused a landslide on a Hindu pilgrimage route in the Indian occupied Jammu region. The heavy rain caused 30 casualties. People are advised to stay inside as the flood alert is issued.

Fatalities in India due to extreme weather:

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the weather conditions in the region are very severe, leading to heavy rains and flooding in the region. The Chief Minister said that the communication network within the region is almost non-existent.

The news agency said that the landslide on the pilgrimage route caused casualties. At least 30 people lost their lives due to the landslide. The landslide occurred near the shrine of Vaishno Devi.

Last week, havoc caused 60 casualties, while 200 people went missing in Kishtwar in occupied Kashmir. Due to the extreme weather forecast, the government has announced the closure of the educational institutes in the region.

Rakesh Kumar told the reporter that the rivers Tawi, Chenab, and Basantar continued the alert level. He warned that the flood would cause damage in low-lying areas.

The bridge on the Tawi River collapsed due to a landslide in the region. The television images show the pathetic situation of the region. The severe weather has disturbed the normal functioning of the lives of the people.

Vehicles fell into a big hole after the bridge collapsed. Highways were also damaged. Some highways that link Jammu to the rest of India also collapsed.

Weather conditions in Pakistan:

In recent weeks, the weather conditions in Pakistan have also gotten worse. The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a warning and advised people to stay indoors. On Wednesday, there is a chance of water flooding in the rivers Ravi and Satluj.

On Tuesday, Islamabad reported the flooding in the country. It said that Punjab faced a high to extremely high danger of flooding due to heavy rain and India’s decision to release water from two dams.

Officials said, people have evacuated the places right after the flood warning is issued. Almost 150,000 people were displaced from the province. Throughout the country, people are advised not to go out, especially in the red alert areas so that people can save themselves.
