The Pakistani Government Announces four-day Holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr 2024
On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the federal government announced a four-day vacation to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the completion of the religious month of Ramadan, AAM NEWS HUB reported. According to a Cabinet Division announcement, the holiday period is scheduled (Wednesday, April 10 to Saturday, April 13), giving citizens a four-day relaxation to celebrate the holy event. Eid-ul-Fitr is an essential occasion in the Islamic calendar that occurs after the fasting month of Ramzan.
Muslims anywhere in the world fast for a month, and Eid festivities highlight the ending of the month of self-control. A few days ago, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted that the Shawwal moon would be visible throughout Pakistan on April 9, 2024. As stated by PMD, the Shawwal moon will rise on April 8 at 11:21 p.m. in the local time zone. On April 9, the moon will be between 19 and 20 hours old. The meteorological agency stated that the human eye will see it for approximately fifty minutes after sunset.

The PMD noted that the sky in most regions of the whole country would be apparent on April 9.
On the other hand, it stated that the sky in northern locations may be cloudy. The crescent moon for the Islamic month of Ramadan was observed in Pakistan on March 11, while the holy month began the next day. Hence, assuming the PMD’s estimation is correct, Pakistanis will go through 29 fasting days (about four weeks). The PMD stated that if the moon is visible on April 9, Eid-ul-Fitr would be enjoyed on Wednesday, April 10.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, also stated that Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 will most probably date on Wednesday, April 10, in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan According to Maulana Azad, scientific findings indicate that the Shawwal crescent moon would most likely be seen on the 29th of Ramadan this year. Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid ul Fitr after Ramadan ends and Shawwal starts. The Islamic month of Ramadan educates tolerance and discipline while simultaneously promoting charity and welfare, and Eid follows as a happy and cheerful celebration.
