During Flood Restoration Operations, A Landslide In Gilgit Died 8 People.

According to rescue officials on Monday 11th of August 2025, 8 local laborers died in a major landslide while mending Gilgit’s flood-damaged Danyor Nullah.
Numerous other people were hurt and sent to local hospitals, where emergency personnel are on high alert. Rescue professionals continue to look for individuals thought to be lost beneath the fallen structures with the help of locals. Witnesses reported that while the volunteers were repairing the damaged water channel, a landslide occurred unexpectedly.
Police confirmed that four persons were taken out alive but in severe condition after a lot of rocks and dirt buried several others. Traffic flow was restored when the NHA team cleaned the road at “KM 161 in Jalkhad”, which had been blocked by a landslide.
In order to guarantee continuous traffic on the road, the crew that same day temporarily rebuilt the Looshi Bridge, which had been swept away by intense rains and landslides, and restored it to traffic.
“The landslide-affected road at Tatta Pani was cleared once more. Two days earlier, NHA personnel had reopened this portion, but another landslide closed it again.”
