CM Maryam will chair her first cabinet meeting on Thursday.
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will preside over the first meeting of the recently appointed provincial cabinet on Thursday.
The Ramzan Nigehban assistance package will be brought before the cabinet for approval, according the agenda released here. The Punjab Assembly’s legislative work and the state of law and order were the other things on the agenda.
The cabinet meeting will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the Chief Minister’s House. All provincial ministers have been directed to attend the maiden meeting of the cabinet.
Earlier on Wednesday, Punjab Cabinet members who had taken an oath earlier in the day were given their respective portfolios by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Marriyum Aurangzeb has been appointed Senior Minister for Planning and Development, as per the facts. In addition, she would be the Environment and Forests Minister.
Azma Bukhari has been given the portfolio of Information while Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has been given Finance portfolio.
The portfolios of Mohammad Kazem Pirzada in the Irrigation department, Ashiq Hussain Kirmani in the Agriculture department, and Rana Iskandar Hayat in the School Education department are allocated.
The other ministers are Soheb Ahmad Malik for Civil and Works, Zeeshan Rafique for Local Government, Bilal Akbar Khan for Transportation, Khawaja Imran Nazir for Primary Health, and Khawaja Salman Rafique for Special Healthcare.
The following ministers will hold office: Chaudhry Shafay Hussain for Commerce and Industry, Sardar Sher Ali for Mines and Minerals, Sohail Shaukat Butt for Social Welfare, Khalil Tahir Sindhu for Human Rights, Bilal Yasin for Food Department, and Ramesh Singh Arora for Minority Affairs and Human Rights.
