A new chapter in Pakistan-Poland relations:

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, arrived in Islamabad for a two-day official visit. According to the Foreign Office (FO), Sikorski was warmly received by senior Pakistani officials, including the Additional Secretary for Europe and the Polish Ambassador. His visit reflects the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Poland in political, economic, and diplomatic spheres.

Warm welcome at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed Sikorski at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both leaders held a one-on-one meeting, where they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

The FO confirmed that the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional stability, and opportunities for expanding trade and investment between the two countries.

Strengthening bilateral cooperation:

The Foreign Office said that Sikorski’s visit would include delegation-level talks in addition to the tête-à-tête meeting. Both sides are expected to discuss a wide range of topics, from trade and defence cooperation to cultural exchange and education.

The talks will be followed by a joint press stakeout, where both leaders are likely to outline future cooperation strategies and shared goals for regional peace and development.

A significant diplomatic milestone:

This marks Sikorski’s second official visit to Pakistan, his first being in 2011. The FO described his current visit as a “significant milestone” in the long-standing friendship between the two nations.

Pakistan and Poland have enjoyed steady diplomatic relations for decades, with both countries expressing interest in deepening cooperation in various fields, including technology, renewable energy, and higher education.
