Trump Planned to Send Military Troops to Chicago to End Terrorism

WASHINGTON: On Tuesday, Donald Trump vowed to protect Chicago, which he described as the most dangerous city in the world. He hinted at sending the military troops to Chicago to eliminate terrorism from the city.
Trump is all set to deploy the National Guard:
On his Truth Social media platform, Trump hints at the deployment of the National Guard to the US capital. He wrote, “I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in DC. Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the World, by far. JB Pritzker, the democratic governor of the state of Chicago, needs help badly. He just does not know it yet.”
Trump also provided the latest crime statistics of the US’s third-largest city. He said that around 54 people were shot dead in Chicago over the week holidays, and the same happened the previous week.
He assured that the US will soon erase all the menace from the city. He said, “Chicago will be safe again, and soon.” All over the US, slogans were raised that said, “CHICAGO IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!”
Chicago is considered the deadliest region in the world. The US democratic leaders threaten to send the US military personnel to Chicago, where the crime rate is touching the sky, with a huge number of undocumented immigrants living there.
Nowadays, Trump and Pritzker were seen in a clash. The democratic governor accused Trump of deploying the National Guard in the name of an anti-crime and anti-immigration agenda. Pritzker called Trump’s move an invasion of Chicago.
Trump, however, sticks to his stance. He firmly stated that the deployment of the National Guard in Washington and Los Angeles was meant to save the region from criminal activities.
Trump’s actions are challenged in court:
On Tuesday, Trump’s move was challenged in the Federal court. The judge declared that Trump’s move is against the law. His action of deploying National Guards and giving them authority to do police duties like arrest, security patrols, and seizures is unlawful.
Judge Charles Breyer, in his ruling, warned that “Trump appears intent on creating a national police force with the President as its chief.” At a Labor Day rally on Monday, Mayor Brandon Johnson said, “No federal troops in the city of Chicago! No militarised force in the city of Chicago! We’re going to take this fight across America, but we’ve got to defend the home front first.”
