Report On Flood Affected Areas In Punjab Increase In Cases Of Diarrhea, Malaria, and Dengue

According to a report, which quoted the provincial health minister on Friday 29th of August 2025, serious illnesses including “dengue, diarrhea, malaria, and skin infections” are swiftly spreading in Punjab’s flood-affected areas.
India’s quick release of water into the Sultej and Ravi rivers has left parts of Punjab struggling under massive floodwaters. Over (9,000) cases of different infectious diseases have been registered in Lahore alone in the last (24) hours, according to health officials.
Health Minister Advises
Medical camps have been set up around Punjab to offer treatment and early detection in the impacted areas, according to provincial health minister Khawaja Imran Nazir.
He promised that “enough supplies of medications are available in all affected areas.” Nazir also instructed the teams from the Population and Health Departments to be on constant watch in order to handle the growing health crisis.
Additionally, he emphasized that the province’s relief and health efforts are being closely overseen by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

CM Of Punjab Visit Flood Site
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz mandated immediate enhancements to the rescue boats functioning on the Ravi River following an on-site evaluation conducted during a boat excursion.
The chief minister remarked in a statement that the audit found a number of flaws that will be fixed right away. Maryam Nawaz underlined that rescue boats must be outfitted with solid wireless communication devices because relying solely on mobile networks in an emergency situation is unreliable. She quickly directed that all boats have appropriate wireless equipment installed.
