Chairman PTI Orders its Members to Resign from NA Standing Committees

On Wednesday, Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel said that the party members are instructed by the PTI chairman, Imran Khan, to resign from their membership in all standing committees in the National Assembly.
PTI leaders decided to resign from the NA:
According to Mastikhel, the decision to resign from the standing committees in the National Assembly was made early this morning. The meeting was held between all PTI political members.
In a video announcement before the Public Accounts Committee, Mastikhel said, “PTI has resigned from the PAC (Public Accounts Committee) and other committees.”
According to the opposition leader’s chamber, the resignation has been made by the party. Members have written their resignations. However, the resignation letters have not yet been submitted to the speaker.
Mastikhel also informed that the political leaders are now ready to resign at the call of their party leader’s order. He also thanked Imran Khan for trusting his political committee once again. The four to four and a half hour meeting came to its end with the unification of all party members on the same thing.
Mastikhel said, “As the decision was taken in the late hours of the night, today we also have a parliamentary party meeting; whatever Mr Khan orders, we will follow accordingly.”
Filling of the vacant space:
He also talked about the demise of Mian Azhar and the emptiness created due to his death. He said that the party has decided to fill the vacant space caused due to the demise of Mian Azhar.
In July and August, the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified a large number of PTI members and leaders in the May 9 riots. Late Mian Azhar’s son, Hammad Azhar, said that the party decided to boycott the by-elections due to the ECP’s decision to disqualify certain PTI members.
He also said that filling the seat of the father is another case that has nothing to do with the boycott. He said, “Due to the demise, someone from Mian Azhar’s family or a candidate nominated by Hammad Azhar will contest the election from here.”
The political committee expressed its concerns regarding the Toshakhana case during the meeting. The committee said that the trial affects the fundamental rights of the accused and is an obstacle in the way of justice.
According to the committee, the elections will be held in the NA-129 constituency of Lahore. Earlier this month, the party leaders staged a protest in the NA against the disqualification of its lawmakers.
