According to sources on Wednesday 27th of August 2025, the Pakistan Army has been requested in to support the civil administration in Punjab due to the possible flood threat that has arisen after India released water. According to specifics, since India opened all of the dam’s gates on the Ravi River, the water level in Pakistani waterways is rising. The action caused Punjab’s rivers to flood, therefore the province administration sent army soldiers to (7) districts.

7 District Call Military For Handle Situation

While, “Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narrowal, Faisalabad, Okara, and Sargodha” are among the (7) districts in Punjab where the provincial government has made the necessary decision to look for the help of the military for rapid relief operations, according to a Punjab Home Department official.

On the other hand, “Police, Civil Defense, Rescue 1122, and the district administration” are already on the ground, the statement continued. To help with the military deployment, the interior ministry has been formally contacted.

According to him, Army Aviation and other resources will be made available for flood-affected areas, and the final force strength will be decided after consulting with the district administrations.

Actively Monitored All Circumstances

The situation is being continuously monitored by Punjabi government institutions. The representative for the Home Department promised that every precaution is being taken to protect people and property.

An advisory about possible flooding in the River Sutlej due to rising water levels had already been sent out by the NDMA. Authorities in the vicinity of the Sutlej have begun extensive evacuation efforts.

According to a release from the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rescue 1122, and Pakistan Army engineers are taking part in relief efforts to control the situation.
