Floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have killed (335) people and injured (356) more, according to a report from the provincial health department.

A thorough report describing healthcare operations and effects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s flood-affected regions has been made public per the advisor to the health department’s directives.

Details

The report states that (335) fatalities and (356) injuries have been verified by health facilities in the impacted areas. While (6) injuries and (1) death were reported on August 22nd alone. On August 22nd, (27,270) individuals in (11) districts received medical care.

According to the scenario evaluation, (23,566) health centers and (3,704) medical camps provided treatment for these patients. Since the floods began, a total of (262,006) patients have been treated at medical camps and hospitals.

Whereas (3,156) additional cases of illness were recorded in the last (24) hours, increasing the total amount of cases of illness to (15,176). The survey also showed that three institutions were totally destroyed and (57) health facilities were partially affected by the floods.

With emergency health camps and mobile units, the provincial health department is delivering vital medical services to communities affected by flooding while keeping a careful eye on the situation.

In light of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives, it is important to note that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is still supporting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority in efforts to help in regions impacted by the floods in KP.
