30 People Were Saved From A Flooded Call Center At PECHS In Karachi.

Following the floods in Karachi, 30 employees—including women—were successfully saved by Rescue 1122 crews from a PECHS contact center.
On Tuesday, the building was flooded by strong monsoon rains, trapping the workers inside. Officials from Rescue 1122 say the issue started when the call center’s workforce became stranded with no safe way out due to severe water buildup caused by the ongoing rain.
“Emergency personnel raced to the scene and executed the evacuation, securely relocating every employee to a safe location. Because of the dangerously high amount of flooding within the building, employees were unable to evacuate on their own. To guarantee their safety, our crews acted quickly,” a Rescue 1122 representative stated.
Heavy monsoon rains have overloaded Karachi’s inadequately maintained drainage infrastructure, causing severe urban flooding in recent days.
Rescue services have received numerous distress calls as a result of waterlogging in a number of low-lying locations, businesses, and residential districts.
In light of the Meteorological Department’s warning of further intense rains in the days ahead, authorities have asked people to exercise caution, avoid needless travel, and avoid places that are flooded.
