Five Pass Away By A Lightning Strike In Bajaur.

Rescue officials reported on Friday 15th of August 2025, that lightning struck Jabrari hamlet in the Salarzai district of Bajaur, KP, killing at least (5) people.
According to data, several villages saw flash floods brought on by severe rainfall, which destroyed homes and left dozens missing. Whole neighborhoods have been flooded, forcing many families to relocate and preventing access to the impacted areas.
Rescue officials said that a lightning strike in Bajaur’s Jabrari village demolished seven houses and left (18) people buried beneath the debris, killing at least (5) people.
Through damaged roads and broken communication lines, rescue crews are having a difficult time getting to the disaster-affected areas. Residents worry that if rescue efforts are not started right once, the number of fatalities and damage could increase.
Residents have made an urgent request to the government, the general public, and welfare organizations to offer aid right away, stating that if quick action is not taken, the extent of the losses will increase.
With heavy and unpredictable rains predicted for next week, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had earlier issued a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) advisory for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Residents in (Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, Lower Dir, Swat, and Upper Kohistan) have been cautioned by the PDMA to exercise extra caution because heavy rains have the potential to trigger flash floods and landslides in nearby streams and rivers.
District administrations have been directed by the authority to keep an eye on areas that are at risk, send out alerts in a timely manner, and practice emergencies.
