QUETTA- On Thursday, an explosion occurred at the Sibi railway track right after the train coming from Peshawar and heading toward Quetta passed by; no casualties were reported, and the train remained unharmed.

Earlier incident:

Earlier this week, on Monday morning, an incident happened when the Jaffer Express was going from Quetta to Peshawar. Terrorists opened fire near Kolpur. It targeted a pilot engine and opened five fires on the engine. Fortunately, passengers and the pilot remained safe. A group named “Fitna-e-Hindustan” claimed responsibility for the attack.

Explosion near the main track:

Railway officials confirmed that the attack occurred near the track that is 2 or 2 and a half feet from the main railway line. However, the security forces and the railway personnel started investigating the incident. The train was stopped for a while for security reasons.

Officials also confirmed that the explosion did not cause any casualties and the train remained safe. However, the damage happened outside the main railway line.

The trains were temporarily stopped at the Sibi Railway Station, but after a short span, the Sibi Station Master resumed the traffic.

Officials are still carrying out the investigation and are trying to figure out whether the explosion is a deliberate attempt by the terrorist group or it is an accidental detonation.
