Pole-Ladder Strikes Moving Train In Khanewal, Injuring 17 Passengers

An attempted robbery of a railway pole ladder resulted in an accident near Khanewal Railway Station on Friday 20th of June 2025, injuring no less than 17 passengers, according to sources.
The hands and arms of passengers on the Awam Express and Musa Express trains were injured, rescue officials reported. Women, senior passengers, and children were among the injured.
Injured Quickly Shift Into Hospital
In addition, they received immediate medical attention after being taken to a local hospital. Unknown criminals reportedly tried to take an iron ladder that was fastened to an electric signal pole close to the railroad track.

The ladder became displaced during its theft attempt and approached the track too closely, impacting the passing trains.
According to identities, there were no railway personnel at Khanewal Railway Station when the incident occurred.
Investigation Started Officially
An official investigation into the occurrence has been started by the Pakistan Railways administration. A video previously appeared online that showed workers for Pakistan Railways taking diesel from the Karachi Railway depot.
Moreover, (3) Pakistan Railways workers, involving an engine driver, are shown taking diesel from the depot at Karachi Cantt Railway Station.
The culprits had been linked to diesel theft for the previous three months, according to sources. A case has been filed at the Cantt police station and the person charged has been taken into custody.
