According to a report on Thursday 12th of June 2025, the Sindh government has completed its budget plans for 2025–2026.

Tomorrow on 13th of June 2025, Friday, the provincial parliament will hear the presentation of Sindh’s 2025–2026 budget.

The province’s Annual Development Program (ADP) has been raised from “Rs 493 billion to Rs 503 billion” in accordance with the plans.

Main Features Of Development

The development appropriations’ main features include the “Rs 45 billion” planned for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) fund for MNAs and MPAs, and the “Rs 183 billion” designated for new development programs.

It is anticipated that each divisional headquarters city will receive an upgrading package around “Rs 7 billion”.

  • The budget for the health sector might increase from “Rs 18 billion to Rs 21 billion”.
  • Even as the development grant for the education sector is suggested to increase from “Rs 32 billion to Rs 38 billion”.

Some Departments Are Facing Budget Cuts

  • S&GAD’s development budget is suggested to be severely decreased from “Rs 32 billion to Rs 10.91 billion”.
  • The Local Government Department’s allocation may decrease from “Rs 74.37 billion to Rs 66.11 billion”.
  • The amount allotted for megadevelopment projects in Karachi rose dramatically to “Rs 21 billion”, up from hardly “Rs 1.38 billion” the previous year.
  • Additionally, it is suggested that the budgets for public health engineering and irrigation be increased from “Rs 21 billion to Rs 24 billion” and “Rs 26 billion to Rs 31 billion”, respectively.

In the field of education, it is suggested that the budgets for colleges and universities be increased from “Rs 4.26 billion to Rs 7.24 billion” and from “Rs 3.99 billion to Rs 7.10 billion”, respectively.

On the other hand, it is projected that the budget for school education will be reduced from “Rs 20 billion to Rs 17.82 billion”.

With an anticipated rise in development funding from “Rs 5.84 billion to Rs 10.25 billion”, the transport industry is also expected to gain.
