The Committee then announced that due to no moon appearance on Tuesday, Eid-ul-Adha will be observed from May 7 to May 9. The decision of the Eid holidays came after getting approval by Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan.
In light of the decision made about the Eid holidays, all institutions (private and public) will remain closed from June 6 to June 9. However, the official notification by the Cabinet is due.
History of Eid-ul-Adha:
Eid-ul-Adha holds a significant place in Islam. The Day is celebrated to remember the sacrificial obligation of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S). Years back, Ibrahim (A.S), on the command of Allah, was ready to sacrifice his beloved son, Hazrat Ismail (A.S).
Allah loved Ibrahim’s (A.S) act and replaced Ismail (A.S) with a lamb. That is why Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid-ul-Adha to showcase that everything can be sacrificed for Allah. Allah is superior, and everything except HIM is inferior.
Protocols during Eid holidays:
On Saturday, the Punjab government announced the imposition of Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). People during the Eid holidays burnt the heads and feet of the animals. Thus, the smoke and smell emitted from this burn make the environment unhealthy.
According to the official notification, “Members of the public throw entrails of sacrificial animals on roadside and drains, which causes smell/unsanitary conditions and blockage of the sewerage system.”
The notification also added that people also don’t take care of their lives and go to canals, ponds and lakes. It is also mentioned that “Cattle sellers illegally establish sale points for sale/purchase of sacrificial animals within populated areas of districts, which causes hindrance in smooth conduct of traffic and also spread of different diseases.” The notification clearly reflects the need to impose the Section in the province.
