Rising Prices Create Hardships For People Across The Country

The cost of basic foods such as (fruits, vegetables, bread, lentils, cooking oil, and sugar) has increased dramatically since the start of Ramadan, which has upset many who are fasting. Many individuals can no longer buy fruits, which makes it challenging for them to fully observe their fasts.
The serious economic situation in Punjab has made it impossible for the government to establish subsidized markets or offer money to spend on necessities for “Iftar and Sehri” for the 1st time in the past forty years.
Too Much Inflation
According to details (bananas cost Rs 300 per dozen, oranges Rs 550 to Rs 600 per dozen, apples Rs 450 per kg, strawberries Rs 600 per kg, guavas Rs 250 per kg, pomegranates Rs 400 per kg, grapes Rs 350 to Rs 500 per kg, and melons Rs 250 per kg) at local shops.

Whereas chicken meat is being sold for (Rs780 per kg), the cost of live chicken has increased to (Rs550 per kg).
On the other side costs (Rs287 for a dozen eggs, Rs220 for a litre of milk, Rs240 for yoghurt, Rs1,200 for butter, and an incredible Rs3,000 for desi ghee).
Price regulation magistrates have been paying attention just to punishing street sellers, failing to stop the growing prices in key marketplaces, despite the getting worse situation.
