PM Shehbaz Sharif Receives Grand Welcome In Uzbekistan

• On Wednesday, Shehbaz Sharif received a grand welcome in Tashkent. 
• He attended high-level discussions with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Congress Centre.
• The discussion focuses on boosting trade, investment, regional connectivity, and defense cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. 

A warm welcome in Tashkent:

Upon arrival at the Congress Centre, PM Shehbaz received a guard of honor. Pakistan and Uzbekistan’s national anthem was played while Shehbaz Sharif reviewed the military guard alongside President Mirziyiyev. Both leaders introduced their delegations before moving to formal bilateral discussions and delegation-level meetings.

After signing the agreements, PM Shehbaz and President Mirziyoyev will address a joint press conference. They will highlight the importance of stronger ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. PM Shehbaz will also speak at the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, encouraging business leaders to explore investment opportunities and increase bilateral trade.

Visit to Tashkent’s technopark:

During his stay, PM Shehbaz will visit Tashkent’s Techno Park. He will observe Uzbekistan’s advancements in industrial and construction technology. The visit aims to explore new opportunities for technological collaboration.

Pakistan-Azerbaijan ties strengthen:

Earlier this week, Pakistan and Azerbaijan agreed to increase bilateral investment to $2 billion. The decision was finalized during a meeting in Baku between PM Shehbaz and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
