Australian Cricket Squad Arrives in Pakistan for 2025 Champions Trophy

In order to compete in the 2025 International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy, the Australian cricket team has spent time in Pakistan.

After flying from Colombo via Dubai, a 14-man team consisting “coaches, captain Steve Smith, and support personnel” touched down in Lahore.

The Australian team does not include all-rounder Mitch Marsh (back), captain Pat Cummins (ankle), or Josh Hazlewood (hip). Australia’s Champions Trophy campaign will begin on the 22nd of February at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore against bitter rivals England.

In addition Pakistan, the host and existing champions, will play New Zealand in the opening match of the 9th edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Karachi’s National Bank Stadium on the nineteenth of February.

The 8-team competition will be held in Pakistan and Dubai and will include (15) matches spread across (19) days.

Champions Trophy 2025 matches will be held in 3 different locations in Pakistan (Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi). Three group matches will be played in each Pakistani location, with the 2nd semi-final being held in Lahore.

However if India qualifies, in which case it would be held in Dubai, the final will also be held in Lahore on the 9th of March. There will be free days for both the semifinals and the championship game. Dubai will host the 1st semi-final and the 3 group matches involving India.
