The Number of Somalia café Attacks has Risen to 9 Security Officials
On Monday, 15th of July 2024, (9) people died as a result of an explosion inside a café in the capital city of Mogadishu, Somalia, security officials informed the news agency. The incident happened when a vehicle bomb went off among a gathering of football supporters watching the Euro 2024 final. According to details, “The explosion claimed the lives of (9) civilians and injured (20) more,” stated Mohamed Yusuf, a national security agency officer, adding to the (5) confirmed deaths announced by the police late on Sunday, 14th of July. “Most clients at the café were teenagers watching the football game.

Within minutes after the explosion, police officer Mohamed Salad hurried to the scene and informed the news agency that many dead had been found beneath the rubble. He declared, “(5) people died outdoors the building and on the main road, involving drivers of driving vehicles.”
Furthermore, he said, “(4) people died inside the dining room; some of them were pulled out from under the rubble.” Although no organization took credit for the blast, the state-run Somali National News Agency reported on Sunday that the (Al-Shabaab group), which is affiliated with (Al-Qaeda), was responsible for the attack. For almost (17 years), Al-Shabaab has been operating a deadly uprising against the weak federal government of Somalia. The group has also carried out many bombings in Mogadishu as well as in different regions of the nation.
